This is FC Bootle's first season in the West Cheshire League 3rd Division and they have got off to a flyer.
After seven games they sit top of the table with six wins and a draw scoring 34 goals with a +23 goal difference.
With half of those goals, I think it is safe to say that the danger man at FC Bootle is Mark Madden.
I also think while we can safely say this will be a real tough un for our reserves (Sponsored by The Masons Arms) but we will be looking forward to it with relish and hoping to build on the second-half performance at Garswood United last week.
Make no mistake, that was one decent result last weekend as the home side played six first-teamers.
Also speaking to the management and players after the game it was quite apparent that everybody felt we should and could have gone on to win the game.
So all looks good and it will be great for the lads to get straight back into it with a knockout cup tie.
