In the LCFA Saturday Challenge Cup - 1st Round - our first team have been drawn at home against Liver Academy FC in a game to be played on Saturday 14 September.
Liver ply their trade in the Liverpool Premier League Premier Division and this will be a very tough task for our lads.
After being promoted from Division One they have not started the season how they would have wished with three defeats but on Saturday they lost by just 1-0 - and that was an OG - to second-placed Liverpool NALGO.
Of course, the Liverpool Premier League is a league our gaffer Wayne Wardle and his management team know well and this will be a proper cup game.
Kick-off on 14 September will be 2pm to allow for any extra time if needed in a game that will be decided on the day.
A week later our reserves are in Liverpool County FA action after being drawn away to FC Bootle St Edmonds in the LCFA Junior Cup 1st Round.
This is FC Bootle's first season in the West Cheshire League 3rd Division and they have got off to a flyer.
After six games they sit top of the table with five wins and a draw from six games and a +21 goal difference.
I think while we can safely say this will be a real tough un for our lads but we will be looking forward to it with relish.
FCBSE play their games at Litherland Sports Park and again this will have a 2pm kick-off on 21 September.
Let's hope these fixtures will be the start of a few brilliant cup runs for both our teams this season.
