This may be The Storks' reserves final pre-season friendly as the following Saturday (7 September) they take on Lostock Gralam in the Reserve Division Challenge Cup.
In a pre-season that appears to have been going on forever Eagle are likely to provide the toughest task so far for our very talented reserve side.
They will compete with ourselves in the Reserve Division One and last season they finished runners-up in the combined division, pushing Styal Reserves all the way and failing just by three points in the end.
Last season the points were shared as we beat Eagle 3-2 at Barrows Farm in May while earlier in the season Eagle stuffed us 6-1 on their middin.
Everything points to this being a cracking final friendly of pre-season and just what will be needed for both clubs as the new reserve season (eventually) arrives.
If you are not travelling to watch the first-team at Middlewich Kick-off is 1pm (which would also enable you to watch the first-half before hitting the M6 if you fancy it) then make your way down to Barrows Farm for what will be a decent encounter.
