Billinge met a strong Clay Brow FC tonight and they deserved their 3-1 win.
Billinge were 2-0 down before they even got going. Both goals coming from set play's and both were avoidable.
Clay could have been well away had they took their chances but Billinge built into the game. Ryan Sephton went close with two 1 v 1s but the keeper was equal to his efforts. Joe Ratcliffe also rattled a free kick off the woodwork.
Clay started the second half better and got their rewards when another free kick fell kindly to an unmarked man who put it away.
Billinge would keep plugging away and got a goal back when Sam Denton went through and hit a low shot in off the post.
A tough fixture for a relatively new set of lads. Load's of positives and the new lads impressed. Chris Fairhurst also returned tonight and this is a big lift for the whole club.
