Billinge Reserves took on a very tough challenge tonight and we can only hope the result has done more good than bad.
The Kirkby team will be playing their football in the West Cheshire Division 2 next season and the loss is no shame for a Billinge Reserve team, who's first team play a similar level.
Billinge were in a game at HT and were only 2-0 down. The second goal being a really scrappy affair in the box.
In the second half Kirkby made 8 changes were Billinge only had 2 fit subs available and this really made the difference. Kirkby would score another 4 unanswered goals.
Billinge did have chances and the best would be for Liam Roughley as he had a chance to score from the spot but he blazed the kick over.
This was a real test and the reserves wont lay a harder game than this all year. With a little direction and a couple of players this team will be a force again like last year.
